The summer season is now over and it's time to recognize all the playoff winning teams! What a season it was, the competition in all leagues was exciting and fun to follow throughout the entire season and playoffs. We had some teams that won the double and a team that has repeated as playoff champs! Let's review all the winners and results...
In the Friday Men's Playoff Finals, Toronto Internationals dominated the game beating AS Rosso, the League Champs 4-0! With the big win and playoff title, Toronto Internationals have repeated winning their second straight playoff championship! Mark Allison and the rest of the Toronto Internationals team are pleased in winning the playoffs again this year, but swear they will do whatever it takes to win the league title next year! Congrats go out to our golden boot winner Eric Bigos, who always seemed to have a knack for scoring big goals for his team.
The final game in Sunday Men's Division 1 was a thriller as Sporting Wood denied Spectacular Balls the double this year. Sporting Wood became playoff champs winning the closely contested final 1-0 through Michael Reider's decisive goal!
Hooligans of Toronto are the playoff and leagues champs in Sunday Men's Division 2! They achieved the double beating the Beaches Gunners 5-2 in the playoff finals. The Hooligans had a remarkable season this year, as they fought hard to catch the Sporting Beer Guts to win the league title and beat the Beaches Gunners in a tough playoff final. Recognition goes out to Michael Kadis, the Hooligans' team captain who kept his team organized and ready to battle every week. Remarkably there were 4 golden boot winners in Division 2, congrats to Tom O'Callaghan, Mark O'Donovan, Nick Chomey and Nick Barret!
A season of dominance is the best way to describe the Eagles' season this year in Co-Ed play. The Eagles cleaned up winning all the awards this season. They won the playoff title beating Arselona handily 5-0 in the finals. They won the league title as well they started and remained in 1st place all season long. And finally, Greg Petit who plays for the Eagles won the golden boot award.
Congrats to all the playoff champions and to all the teams who played this season! On behalf of all the Toronto Rush staff, it was an enjoyable and memorable season for all of us.
See you next year!
